Default Can't backup data anymore

Please Login to Remove!

When I try to backup data with Desktop manager I get an error message saying "error backing up data." Until that point, it says "transferring process" and it appears all is transferring fine.

The only thing I can potentially relate to this as a cause, is a few weeks ago, just before I noticed the error message, Desktop manager indicated updates were available, I started the update process but had to terminate before completion. I then noticed the issue. A few days later I finished the update process with no problems. But of course am still experiencing the data backup issue.

When in backup, see what item it is on in order to tell you where it is blowing up.

In Backup/Restore go into Advanced.

Select the Browser Data Cache on select Clear

Try the Backup again.

Default "Unknown Error" when backing up

I recently updated the operating system on my Blackberry 9000/Bold to 4.6.0.216. Also installed Desktop version 4.7.032.

Tried to do a backup, for the first time since I got the phone. About a third of the way through, get an "Unknown Error" window popping up, aborting the backup. Have cleared my Browser cache, as mentioned above but to no avail.

Suggestions?

I am also having the same problem. I am using 4.6.0.190 on a BES. Any ideas? I tried clearing the browser cache also and still have the same problem.

I am having same problem. DM is 4.7 ~ Storm~ Vista. I've had my phone for a while and just started experiencing this a few weeks ago. I get a "Unknown Error" when backing up (which wiped out part of my calendar on both phone & outlook) and when I try to sync it stops at the calendar and then just closes. Any suggestions?

Default "Unknown Error" when backing up

Re my post above, think I have isolated the problem.

In Desktop Manager, selected Backup and Restore. In that window, selected Advanced. Added folders from the right window (Device Databases) to the left window (Cinoyter Databases) one by one. Found the problem of Unknown Error crops up when I try to backup a folder called "Location Based Services", whatever that is.

Wonder if this has to do with Blackberry Maps, which I have installed on my device.
