Hi,

Anybody use this application(http://www.desktopmobiles.com/)? Can we do it with BES so we don't need to open port on my firewall? If yes, could you give me the procedure?

I use it but I am on BWC not BES and I did have to open the port.

assuming it runs over the default RDP port, 3389, then i don't see why you'd have to open any ports. you'd have to be running MDS. basically, it would appear that the BES was attempting an RDP session to an internal machine, so if you could RDP to another internal machine from the BES, then you should be able to from the handheld. of course, if it runs on another port, or if you are attempting a connection to an internal machine without having MDS enabled, or if you are attempting a connection to a machine not on the internal network, then this would not apply.

it depends on his purposes. for servers on an internal network that is accessible from the handheld only via MDS services, then he will need a BES. if its to use for controlling your system at home or on a publically accessible computer, then yes. otherwise, i really do not see how it'd be possible to control a server that is protected behind a firewall on a private subnet via the public internet without some sort of firewall and/or NAT configuration.

I think you are right Jibi. Even though it uses different port but if this software uses MDS, i'm fine.
