Memory limitations might be an issue with BB9000... only has 128 MB - my 2G Curve 8900 has more than that.

Now tentatively a happy camper. I don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed.

Yes the Bold 9000 cannot support OS 6. It's old anyways (geez I remember when I broke the news of that thing being sold on eBay and less than 12 hours later it was world wide)

I'll be happy with OS 6 on my 9700, but I'd really prefer having the shiny new 9800 :D

If OS 6 will support the Pearl 3G, why wont OS 6 support the Storm 2?

The Storm2 version of OS 6 is a much larger installation file, and would be borderline that it actually "fit". That said, there's some intel that we 'might' see some version of OS 6 for the S2. Just don't hold your breath, and even with that, it's unlikely to be an official release from Verizon.

Yes. there is. The news is that RIM's press release specifically stated the 9700, 9650 and 9100 would specifically get the new OS along with future devices. That is all that has been said. Take from it what you want.

There will be beta releases for other devices along with hybrids. Some will work well and some will not. Simply said.

if they removed all the touch features and the touch keyboard i think it will take less memory for it to work in 9700 and other devices

I would doubt that, since their was no lite version of OS 5.0

But who knows!

Now, RIM needs to hurry up and release the OS6 for 9700 so people can enjoy the new features including browser experience. I have no plan to jump the ship and BB is perfectly suits my needs. Love the devices
