You do know that you cannot install a 9630 OS on an 8900?

And if you look around our site, you will see a yellow sticky at the top of each device section with the latest OS for that device. Perhaps checking the 9600 section would be a place to start?

I agree.... 100% And there are A LOT of those and I want to punk them out, but in the interest of civility, I usually chose not to.

I am actually in the process of downloading this OS right now. I just wish this internet thing would move a little faster... The site I am getting it from is only sending it to me at 123KB/sec....

I was going to use that site (justf***inggoogleit.com) instead but it would have been blocked and thus a failed attempt at humor.

It really wasn't hard.. I searched on Crackberry.com and found this - MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service

I haven't downloaded it - I don't use the 9630.

Rashidbinu,

Version 5.0.0.230 for the 9630 is a beta version. It is not an official release version. Therefore, you will not find a link to it on this site, nor will any member on this site provide you with the link. You will however, find a link at the top of this section to the latest official version.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Had you tried to download it you would have found the link is dead. It is not as easy as you think. But I did google it and after about 10 or 15 tries found an active link on one of the rapid sharing sites. BTW, you can also look for HYBRID versions.
