Default How to create 8700 ringtones on a mac

Please Login to Remove!

The following is a process which allows mac users to create ringtones for bb.

First you must edit the song in garage band till it is about 15-25 seconds.
Export the newly edited song to Itunes. Make sure that the default encoder in itunes is the good quality mp3. Now you must convert the itunes file to mp3. Make sure that the file is around 500kb. Now you upload the song to coolservice.dk, download on ur bb and it is all done.

I have been told you can send it to yourself with GMail as well and you can download the attachment as a tone- haven't tried it though...

You can also use the free application called Audacity thats what i've been using. I also setup an automator action to let me select the folder i have the ringtones in and and automatically address it to a gmail account and send the email.

You may be using .wav. It doesn't sound like an mp3 for sure. Check your encoding on that.

So as of right now my dad isn't letting me use the BB internet service becasue he claims it will be a distraction while I'm at school. Is there anyway to make a ringtone then send it via bluetooth or USB or something of the sort? I really want to get some ringtones but the program I have (Xingtone) only uses the internet. Will that Magix ringtone program work or is there a free way without the web?

Here you go:

1. The first action is:"Ask for Finder Items"

The "type" is set to "file and folders" and the start at is set to "whatever folder you save your ringtones in"

I have the prompt say "Choose a folder" and i have allow multiple selections checked

2. That action goes into the action "Get Folder Contents"

3. That action goes into the action "New Mail Message"

I have the "to:" set to the gmail account i setup just for sending ringtones to. In the subject line it says "insert subject" so that way when the new email pops up you can enter something like "family guy tones" so you can search the gmail box later for those tones.

4. That action goes into the action "Send Outgoing Messages"

5. That action goes into the action "Ask for Confirmation"

I have the action ask "Run Mail Ringtones Again?" and the buttons say "No, Quit" and "Yes" which automatically quits the process after the email has been sent OR runs the script again so i can send another email

6. In order for the the script to run again you have to save it after step 5 and then open it again and choose the action "Run Workflow" and choose the workflow that you just saved.

So in all there is 6 actions in the workflow. I parked this action in my dock and titled it "Mail Ringtones". Now if I ever make a bunch of ringtones i save them in folders by category and then i can mail those to my gmail account to be downloaded through the BB web browser. So my gmail inbox has many emails with the subject being whatever the ringtones are ie. Family guy tones, TV tones, Sound effect tones and so on.

I have two mp3 ringers from my old phone. I emailed them to myself to get them off my phone and now I have them on my Macbook Pro. When I try to play them on my BB 8700c, nothing happens. If I change the Hz using Audacity, the file gets all messed up (sounds kind of like the Chipmunks) but it will play on my BB. So how do I change the Hz so that the file will work but keep the song the same?
