I'm wondering if I can dump my 40 dollar DataPro 2GB BB Enterprise dataplan and use a 30 dollar Data Pro 3GB BB plan? I've heard that the only thing you lose is ota activations (must do via USB cable on server?) This wouldn't be a big deal. Is this actually true?

I've also heard that you must use the "express" BES software? I'm running the old 4.1.4 but plan on installing the new BES_express_503. If this is true, I should get my environment upgraded to express before I drop the plan?

So can someone set me straight on this. I'd really like to take 20 bucks a month off my bill if possible (2 BB's).

While you are running a fully flegged BlackBerry Enterprise Server you will need the process plan.

Once you have BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express installed you can lower your data plan to the normal BlackBerry plan.

You can have the USB cable on the PC where you fire up the web admin console. So no need to go to the server room and connect your device there.
