enterprise activation via BDM? how long is it supposed to take?

depends on how many items the user has. I had a user with 5000ish address book entries. that took a while
And I swore when I first saw the title it looked like "bdsm". I don't know what that would have to do with BlackBerry servers though.

Typically running activation while cabled will proceed much faster than wirelessly. I normally see about a 50% increase on average, but your mileage may vary.

The time that ANY activation takes is directly related to how many items the device needs to sync (calendar/contacts/tasks/memos). Brand new activations might only take a minute, while a user who has been around for awhile might take 20 (at least here).
