unlimited means "fair usage" but its huge so dont worry.
yeah you can download, emails pics etc, unless its like a 3rd party company selling a downloadable product.

few pointers?
options-screen-convenience key that does voice dialing? CHANGE it to anything but voice dialing!!

bonnet de douche !

hey my new little blackberry dude, that includes maps, maps basically use a connection via GPS, which isnt data, if it cant get it from its GPS it uses GPRS (which is data) but that is included so dont worry. you can browse the web use maps download pictures from your emails/web its all good. you will only get charged for 3rd party applications or "franky Vaughn" websites....

no nothing as standard on the device will cause you to incur charges,

firstly, maps DOES use data to DOWNLOAD THE MAP.
It will use GPS to find your LOCATION failing that it uses triangulation of cell signal.

But it is covered it your data plan.

no you said it uses GPS, which isnt data.
No GPS isnt data, but maps still needs to download the map regardless of GPS

when you open the map application, it downloads the map so you can see where you are.
This is downloaded via data.
when you move to an area off the screen, and it moves, it needs to download the other part of the map, via data.

BB maps (or google maps for that matter) are NOT built in to the device, they need to be downloaded to view.
