Question Allow users to request their own Activation pin

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to allow users to request and get an activation code from the BES rather than me the admin having to right click the user and hit send user activation code?

I was hoping that there is a magic way for a user to send an email to [email address] and put pin in the subject line and poof they get an activation code back.

You'd have to build an application to do this (using the BlackBerry Resource Kit ... BESUserAdmin in specific). Or you can buy one from a company that has already do this.

Are there companies that make an app like this? I'm not sure what I need to look for.

Yes ... how many BBs do you have? It may not be cost effective to buy anything though.

definitely not going to be cost effective. These are solutions for people with several thousand BB's or more.

It takes 30 seconds to add someone to a bes and generate a password to them, is it really that big of an inconvenience?

You could probably generate 1,000 more users/passwords in the time it would take you to develop a tool to do this for you. It's not time or cost efficient for 90 users on a BES.
