Default Where are my Kobo ebooks?

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded a couple of Kobo ebooks...very satisfactory. However today I was cleaning some odds and ends out of my PB and noticed I couldn't find the ebooks in any of the folders. Any idea of what's going on?

Probably stored in the application directory which isn't viewable to the user.

the temporary files are. KoBo is nothing more than a very simplistic web browser. each page is a webpage pulled from their webserver and stored locally temporarily.

Then how can you read books when offline?

agreed. the books are downloaded onto memory, not stored in cache. i was trying to find the directory earlier so i could try to import my own books into the kobo ereader. smartly though it is hidden. i wonder if there is a way to unhide and use kobo as a document reader.

does anyone know if this is possible on other platforms/other readers such as nook, kindle? you can drop any pdf into ibooks on ios and it gives very good functionality.

on a separate note, i really wish something comes along that allows the opening of multiple pdfs. i use my playbook for pdf reading more than anything else, and that would be HUGE for me.

The software that came with my Sony reader allows me to import books from my computer. I would think the Kobo software should be able to do the same, but it might take some digging to find out how.

There is a folder for Kobo in Accounts 1000 > appdata named com.kobobooks.air + a bunch of other characters, but it file browser says it's empty. I suspect the files are hidden. There may be another file browser that would be able to see hidden files. I'm using the .99 File Browser app.
Have you tried looking with the PB connected to your computer?
The books must be stored on the PB somewhere because the books can be read when not connected to the internet.

Yes, that is where I first noticed that the Kobo book files didn't appear.

I agree they must be in there somewhere... Perhaps this is a way to prevent Kobo ebooks from being shared without payment...?

I just got a Playbook. I chose it over an iPad because I like a challenge. Today's challenge is trying to purchase a book on kobo. First the purchase function would not work on my Playbook: no matter how many times I carefully entered my credit card information the purchase would not go through. Then I purchased the book through my Mac. Logged onto the kobo app on my Playbook and there is the book - only it will not open. Message: "Sorry! We couldn't open this item. We're working to fix the problem - please try again later." Kindle web works however. I may go back to Kindle.

The Kindle Cloud Reader works really well on my PlayBook. You can also save the book so you can read it offline.
I haven't bought any Kobo books simply because I did not want to give my credit card into to any more sites, and I already have an Amazon account.

I believe Kobo take PayPal now, but your point is well taken. Ebook sellers seem to have to learn all the ecommerce lessons for themselves.

The same happened to me with Kobo with the PB. I emailed Kobo and they stated they would get back to me. I searched every file on teh PB and couldn't find the books i purchased. But i found out the downloads take time a long time for some reason. My books downloaded after 24 hrs.
