Default BBSmart and Battery Life

Please Login to Remove!

I have been trying BBSmart for a few days now. About the same time as I started testing the program, my battery started discharging twice as fast as before. I don't know if it is the program or the fact that my battery is over one year old. Anyone else using the program notice a battery difference?

I am with cable guy. I do not see an issue. Unless this program is what I would refer to as "icing on the cake." In other words, maybe your device is too overloaded with programs.

I've been using BBSmart since its release, and I'm a pretty heavy e-mail user (over BIS) - I haven't notices any additional battery consumption.

Now, I guess if you enable "show images" and you use a lot of e-mail, it could use the battery more since more data is being downloaded, but... I haven't seen it.

I haven't noticed any difference to battery life either.

If you end up downloading more data per email you will certainly use more battery power. The wireless radio and the screen backlight are the biggest consumers of power. It just makes sense if you talk on the phone more or download more data you will use more battery.

Thanks for the replies. Using the program, I expected a slight increase in battery drain. What I am seeing is equal to my forgetting to close my web browser which will drain my battery twice as fast as normal. Since posting this question, I have done a hard reset, let my battery go below 20% and recharged it. Today, I did not use the program and my battery usage was back to normal. The next couple of days, I will use BBSmart and see what my battery does.

Oddly enough, today was my first full day using BBSmart Email, and my battery drained almost all the way down...something that has never happened before in months of use.

Might just be a coincidence, so I'll have to watch over the next few days and see what happens.

Hmmm...Very odd to hear all this. Obviously, I use bbsmart all day And my battery has always been fine.

It doesn't really make sense that it would use your battery as much as is being described. It's not an "always on" application like chat programs or anything like that...

I am not noticing a battery drain issue at all today, so it must have just been a coincidence.
