Default my phone laggy?

Please Login to Remove!

hi - i recently upgraded to the tour and i've been comparing it with my friend's tour (same carrier) and he says my phones laggy and i should exchange it. for instance, i have my phone set to automatically lock and after i enter the correct password it takes about 10 seconds to go through and let me access whatever i need to. or if i click on the top mute or lock button it waits about 4 seconds until it's done. he showed me his and did the same thing and it does work a bit faster. honestly, it doesn't bother me and my motto is "if it isn't broke, don't fix it". ok, i know that motto doesn't quite apply to my dilemma, but i'm fine with it and it doesn't bother me so i don't feel like i need to replace/exchange it. however, he says that it can cause problems for me in the future and it's best to take care of it now while i'm within the 30 day period (i have insurance, so i don't think i have a time limit). i've been using my curve 8330 and the tour really is performing better than the curve. he's gone through 4 tours and said he knows what he's talking about.

so i need your help...is this an issue where it will affect me in the future? should i get it replaced? i already download apps/themes and some have been paid for. i did do a backup so i think i can transfer that, but it's just a pain. plus, i had to go back to all my contacts and edit the birthdays just so it can be shown on the calendar, that's another issue! i have over 100 contacts and about 90 of them have birthdays so i had to go back and edit each one of those so the birthdays can show on the darn calendar. is there an easier way for that? HELP! thanks!

if the birthdays are on your cpu calendar, just sync them.
Have you did a battery pull? Do you do it regularly? Are you closing your apps properly? Hit BB button and select close or do you just hit the back button (I believe this allows them to run in the background)
It's the little things. Do a batt pull, check your avail memory, is it lagging? If it starts lagging, check your memory again. Meterberry may still be on sale.

If it's not bothering you, don't exchange, it's that simple.

Also, you might want to check to see if your security settings match your friends. If you have encryption on, it's going to slow down the device.

The bottom line is not to bother to compare, if your phone is meeting your needs that is all that matters.

I see so much of the lets run and get it exchanged, only to discover that there really was nothing wrong with th first one in the first place, and guess who pays the price for all thise exchanges, we all do in higher prices.

Two months ago I bought two tours from Verizon one for me one for my son, neither were the ones with the green sticker, neither has had any issues with the trackball (yes they have gotten stuck here or there once in a while) but nothing major nothing that would cause us to run and get it exchanged, but i would imagine that with all the talk here anyone else would have already tried to exchange them.
