I had a Verizon tech support tell me that the Torch should be available soon through Verizon. I was surprised to hear that since the reps don't usuually know anything in advance. Has anyone heard any rumors about a Torch on Verizon in any time soon?

Have not seen or heard any rumor about that. Did you check the Rumors section? I highly doubt it however. There has been a rumored Storm 3 but the last I heard VZW wasn't to carry it, only Sprint, if and when it is released, if ever.
