Question Bolt 1.5 browser on Storm?

Please Login to Remove!

Has anybody tried Bolt 1.5 on a Storm yet? I got email from them that it is now released.

I tried a couple of the Bolt Betas and they were just not really usable on the Storm. The UI was not set up for use on a touch screen device.

I'm curious if they fixed that in the "release" version, but not curious enough to just try it - so far Opera Mini 5 is working pretty darn well for me and I don't feel a *strong* need to mess with success.

It's ok. Nothing special. I uninstalled it because it didn't add anything the BB Browser doesn't have, and you can't zoom as far as I could tell. Until Fennec (Firefox mobile) comes to the BB I'll stick with the BB browser.

On a side note, RIM recently bought out a company that made a Safari based browser for the Windows mobile platform. Sounds like they know the browser is a weak point to the BB OS and indent to fix it. Go RIM!

I actually like it as it renders pages correctly and allows me to go to certain sites as if I were using a desktop browser. Something that the native browser has trouble with. I can go to Amazon.com and browse normally, whereas on the native browser, I'm always pointed to the wap Amazon site.

I did have one problem with the latest upgrade, it completely deleted all of my favorite. Now I have to re-create them or, if possible, restore from a backup.

StuartV, give it a try, you may actually like it.

Opera 5 beta rocks blow the BlackBerry browser out of the water.

I just upgraded two days ago as prompted, and I think it's been working fine for me so far, and I use a blackberry storm. The only problem so far is that the videos (on youtube) take forever to load, and the streaming stops every now and then. But besides that, the new 1.5 works just as stated by bolt. Good stuff!!

I have used both the Opera Beta 5 (which I uninstalled soon after) and the new Bolt.
On the Storm, they just dont take advantage of the touch interface. I think the Bolt Browser would work much better on a trackball/trackpad device.
I just stick with the Blackberry Browser for most traffic, because it works pretty well.
