Hey all,

I have a Blackberry Express Server (v5), running on SBS 2008.

The services are randomly failing. They seem to automatically try and restart, and hang at Starting. There are not really any errors to point me where to go in the event viewer, other than service has stopped.

Where should I begin troubleshooting? The logs don't seem to give much information.

I currently administer 12 BESX servers (less than 10 users on each), and this is the only one with issues like this.

Are you logged in as the BESadmin account with the log on as a service permission?

Are the services failing with an error like 5003 or 5302?

I do not actively login to the machine as the BESAdmin unless I am making a change to the BlackBerry server itself. The services however, do have the right permissions (Log on as a service, ect).

The problem goes away, as soon as I restart the blackberry services. This tends to happen about once a week.

I will be back onsite in the morning, I will give that KB a try then.

Im sorry but the KB I referenced was for a different version of BES. I will try to find another article in reference. Were there any recent changes in the environment?

No changes whatsoever. I am the only person with access to the server.

I think you need to be more specific on which services are failing and you need to post the event log errors here.

Depending on the services that are failing, you have to look in the corresponding BES log.

Are you sure you have enough memory in the server?
