Default BES Express, how to remove email sync only?

Please Login to Remove!

express 5.0.1. Added a user while back for full bidirectional sync (email, calendar, contacts). He is unhappy with how sent items are handled and wants to remove the email sync only and go back to using OWA for email. I went into managing users, clicked on the user, clicked on Default Messaging Configuration, went to organizer data synch tab, clicked edit user, under message settings turned synchronization to No. Saved it and rebooted server. Emails continued to come in via BES express. Is there somewhere else i have to change this? Any suggestions appreciated.

You can have the user block enterprise messages from the firewall.

Thanks. I was hoping there was a way to do this in BES express so that he could continue to get calendar and contacts wirelessly and just use the OWA feature to get his emails. Express is running on a small business server 2003 so i would prefer not to mess with the ISA firewall.

From the device go to Options > Sercurity Options > Firewall. There should be an option for Enterprise Mail. Have the user select that.

Or, from the device, go to Messages > Options > Email Settings > Menu Key > Folder Redirection and uncheck the Mailbox folder.
