Nope. I never got 5 days though. I got 3 or so and now I get at least several days before I have to charge. I cycle'd my battery three times (never let FULLY die) when it was new and now I charge it whenever. I have a charger at work, at home and the BB charges via USB on my mac. The 8800 battery is more than enough for me personally.
Are you using video, music, etc or apps that are always on?

I've noticed a similar drop-off, though not quite as dramatic. After I cycled the battery a couple times when new, it seemed to take a lot to put a dent in the battery life...now it doesn't take long at all to drop to 50%. I don't have anything running full time as far as 3rd party apps go, nor do I have the GPS active.

I actually wonder if it's an issue with the battery metering...it seems to drop to 40-50% pretty rapidly, and then take much longer to go fully dead, even after the green LED starts flashing.

Either way, I've done no actual quantitative analysis on this...just my impressions as I've been using the device over the last month and a half...

mine is working fine, I think it depends on what you are doing even if the usage is not extensive, for example if you use GPS for 5 mins, it will utilize more battery than you viewing emails for 5 mins.

5 days without charging? Thats 120 hours!

Oh well I never tested mine as I put on the charge while sleeping! I did forget to charge and it went the 2nd day and ended up with 25% left, but 5 days?

Have you installed any new software like one of the Messenger things. It will eat the heck out of your battery.

Wow that's amazing. I've never had a battery last 5 days without needing a charge! With moderate use (email, Newsclip, BBWeather) I usually have about 70% left at the end of the day. Not bad for an OEM battery of its size. I had similar results with the extended battery in my 8700, but that battery was HUGE.

So far I haven't noticed any falloff in battery life. But then again, I too charge it up every nite, so I don't have any test data to give you. If you think it's a problem I'd contact your carrier and get a replacement battery under warranty.

This shows that your "Blitz Charging" is going on for more than a few seconds or you are doing this ALOT!

Stop your charging and see how long it REALLY lasts.

I use my 8800 HEAVILY... GPS to and from work (yes, i know how to get to work lol) but i use it just to use it, and the drive is 30min each way... i do use the "on at turns" function but hit the space bar quite often to see the map just for kicks. I use about 5 minutes of internet a few times a day, and I've watched atleast 30 minutes of videos, maybe around 5 emails + few text messages, get on ramble for about 15 minutes, use pocket express a few times for sports scores, listen to a couple songs here and there, stay connected to bluetooth all day, and my battery is at 55% right now.

I CANNOT COMPLAIN. And i will say that the battery life has only gotten better, not worse.

I truly believe you have a faulty battery if your losing that much power so quickly.

Has anyone else seen any issues with this? I had my BB plugged in yesterday as I just bought it and I unplugged it before going to bed, when I woke up I was at 65% battery life and I did not do anything to it during the night. Could it be a faulty battery?

you're lucky if you ask me....or you don't talk much.

I use 1500-2000 minutes per month and with my 8800 I can get 1.5 days between empties, but I make it a habit of charging her nightly.

On my treo 650 I could easily get 2-3 days of heavy use from it but the phone plain sucked.

I get 2-3 day with mine if i dont charge but I usually plug it in every night. I did cycle it 3 times when I first got it. Overall the battery is one of the best parts for me, I use it alot and still with nightly charging it rarely gets below 50%.

no disappointment here.

PS Brad that sounds like a bad battery, they should replace battery & phone as its new.

This just happened to me 3 days ago. I normally get 3-4 days of fairly light use (mostly emails and 2-3 phone calls) and then it started going to 10-20% use by the end of the day. I took my battery out and pt it back in a couple days ago and for the past 2 days I have had a full battery (85-90%) at the end of the day. Perhaps a hard boot was a coincidence, but it seems to be OK now. I was planning to get another battery, but looks like it's working OK now.
