Question Fixing the dialpad issue in beta .114

Please Login to Remove!

I know this has problably been posted 5000 times but this is the first time I'm having an issue downgrading.

I followed the instructions for downgrading in the FAQ to the T but when I go into Desktop Manager it tells me that I have no updates for my phone??? I deleted all OS verzions from my pc and installed .99 and I also deleted the vendor file. Still no luck. Any input would be great.

What version of DM are you using?

Likewise, you can use the loader.exe file, just as if you were upgrading and avoid the DM problems. I need to re-write or add that to the downgrade FAQ.

My DM version is 4.7 I tried using loader.exe as well but I get the same results. No upgrades. Thats why I'm kinda lost.

would wiping the device help? it probably still see's that your device has a newer OS than whats going to be installed. If you have nothing on it, loader should just run normally. I would also make sure to back it up if you havent already haha

Search your entire PC for vendor.xml files.

I personally wouldn't wipe it so quickly. That should be the last option.

The whole reason I want to downgrade is because I can't listen to my voicemail. I get the stupid keyboard instead of the dial pad. Any work arounds for this? That is my only issue. I would wipe but I don't want to loose any of my applications.

You might want to upgrade to the .114 hybrid and then you might want to stay there. Oh, I see what problem you are having now. Yes, there is a fix for that which seems to be separate from the hybrid.

Just press the dialpad key.

I have seen a few other post about this issue or glitch in 114, but I can't replicate it here on two different Storms.

I'm having the same issue. Thing is- you're pressing the DialPad key but you're getting the keyboard instead. and if you hit the 123? key nothing happens. Also, the DialPad in the phone menu is too big for the screen (or is that just me...)

LOL when I press the dialpad key I get the qwerty keyboard ... thats the issue. When the qwerty pops up I can't switch to numbers and it's unresponsive. A link to the hybrid would be nice.

pfft...fine... How TO Fix Keyboard with Phone Issue on .114 - BlackberryOS.com > fix for kb issue

hybrid > 4.7.0.114 Hybrid - BlackberryOS.com

(the version of the hybrid I installed did not have the kb fix. apparently they are adding that now so wait for that one and you won't have to install both as I did).

Great, thanks Donbp.

Again, I don't have this issue on .114 of two devices, but for those that do it seems an easy enough fix.

My feeling is that everything beyond .103 has been a hybrid version with these types of problems. All of them - .106, .109, .112, and now this .114.

I think someone is out there dickering with official versions and attempting to engineer their own particular hybrid flavors. This has to be the case because having the keyboard pop up instead of the dial pad doesn't sound like an error in an OS that emanates directly from RIM. I have to believe that RIM engineers don't make such mistakes if they are familiar with a particular OS build.
