I was able to get my configuration setting page created and working. I'm now working on code to save the settings to the persistent store.

Unfortunately traveling right now so time is limited this week. Having the pearl on and tethered to the laptop on the plane to test code might not be a good idea :(

I plan to at least provide a basic version soon that will allow you to select from a list of colors or set your own specific RGB values. This will be free.

PimpYoPearl sounds good, but in the theme of the MTV shows... maybe "PIMP MY PEARL" is better. I had originally come up with BlingBall which now sounds lame.
There is already an app like this called Pimp My Pearl...it's the name of the other (not free) app that does this.

Maybe "BlingBall" is not such a bad idea.

Anyone know if "Pimp My Pearl" works on 4.5?

No it doesn't. I just tried the 2 day trial. I just tried two other apps as well and they leave all the led's lit all the time along with the white one. So, PMP don't and neither does e-Mobile Color Pearl(Got a refund for that one). You will be the first to get one going for 4.5!

I hope you getting it working! And if you could disable the white backlight at the same time, that'd be great (as it stands now, red is the only decent color IMHO, with green not too far behind in 2nd place, but all the other colors seem washed out).

Of what's been suggested so far, I think I like BlingBall the best, tho I think ColorPearl 2.0 (or 4.5?) might be more appropriate so people know it's the same thing, just for the newer OS version.

Thanks!

RGeorge's issue is that he doesn't want it to be "the same thing." I don't think the name is copywrited but he naming it something else out of respect for the other developer. It's just nice to see someone do it, regardless of what the app becomes named.
