Default 9860 questions

I'm thinking about picking up a 9860 on ebay to use when i'm bored with my Lumia 900. It's been while since I've used a BB (last one was a 8310) and i'm wondering if you still have to use BIS if you're not on a BES server or can you set up Outlook and Gmail the same way you do on an iphone or android??
Also, what size sim card does a 9860 use?

Yes BIS is needed if you want email

App world works on wifi now.

Gmail setup is pretty easy with the new setup app and is pushed very fast, almost as fast as my BES.

normal 4g SIM card is used, not a micro SIM

You will need to switch data plans every time when moving from the BB to the Lumia and back. The plans are not interchangeable as the BB must have a Blackberry dataplan for email, Facebook, BBM, etc to work.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like it may be more hassle than it's worth:( Different sim cards, different data plans....dang it! I really wanted the 9860 to be my #2. Since I left BB in 09 I've used iOS and android. Both are ok but I hate using what everyone else in the room is using. WP7 is sufficiently different but i like a little variety and the 9860 would have provided that if weren't for all the hassle involved with changing phones.

Before you buy a used BB from ANY source, read this: Buying a BlackBerry off eBay - BlackBerryFAQ

I was able to use a BES enabled SIM on a BlackBackII phone, I have not tried on WP7
