I never had to mess with any of the apn tcp settings ---confused.

I just downloaded his files and

I just uninstalled the browser by option 1

restored the servicebooks in to my phone

reinstalled the browser by option 2

Did a provision and it worked!

Ok guys PLEASE help me here.

I found his instructions and they work RIGHT TO THE POINT where he said restore said IPD but gives absolutely zero clue as to where the heck I GET THAT IPD

Where do I find the stinking IPD to let the browser work?

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

FIRST to poster. Thank you so much IT WORKS LIKE A DREAM !!!

Second I think I will just STOP looking for things so hard. You see almost 100% of the time I FIND IT just moments after finally GIVING UP after HOURS (I kid you not HOURS of searching)

SO it finally hit me I might as well check out the rest of the page and what do you know THERE are the files all the way at the bottom of the page.

when I got stumped midway I never bothered to read further since I was stuck at THAT step.

FYI the page is fine but to make it a wee easier might be a good idea to put the download link at the top of the page (or a note at that step to GOTO the bottom to get it)

Thank you SO MUCH for making this fix and putting up the instructions.

I am on Sprint with an 8830 and sero plan and ZERO interest in paying $30 for BIS

I went from thinking I HATE blackberries to suddenly maybe I will like it now

it is downloading slacker now so it looks like its working a treat!

again thank you so much!

Oh I have unlimited power vision. I use data far more than I use minutes 500 minutes and I hardly ever use half of that.

I just needed the BBB to work so I could install stuff and the toot worked a treat. Once I found the service book link it all went smoothy and works flawlessly now.

Will BB pin, bb sms, google maps, bb maps, amaze work with this fix?

What is the diff between having BIS or a data plan? What if I am on the Rogers unlimited email plan - will this fix work?

Of Rogers offers a 2 MB data plan. Will this fix work?

For anybody in the US who has tried this. Do you get charged per kb of data?

Not if you have a data plan. Data is Data BIS is just for push mail and Blackberry specific functions (push) what does not work is Push off course and anything on "blackberry.com" ie for anything there you need to find a manual way to install. I am still trying to find a manual install for MMS/Picture Mail and AIM both of which are automatic with BIS (service books and blackberry.com) not so automatic without BIS.

2mb data. You do not want a blackberry at least not unless you disable the data connection. I notice my 8330 is CONSTANTLY using data intermittently. Every few minutes those data symbols go on. I imagine you would chew through 2mb really really fast.

Haha I know there's no charge if you have a data plan. I was curious to see if those who did this "modification" that let them get on the internet without BIS -- if they got charged for it. If they had BIS/BES I dont think they would be doing this in the first place.
