Real men don't carry "micro-fiber smudge removing cloths",
(and the 9520 doesn't need one, the screen is SO scratch resistant).

What does scratch resistance have to do with smudge resistance? Besides, for M&M sorters like myself, resistance of this kind is futile. I don't need resistance, I need prevention.
Or intervention, one could argue.

Touch screen is a must for heavy web browsing. Using the trackball used to make me crazy. After using the iphone now for the better part of the year now, going back to the Bold seemed like an effort. I would like to see a combo of the two. Keyboard and touchscreen would give you the best of both.

If you have verizon money;)
I say if you have money to pay $140 a month to verizon for unlimited! It's a good company. I just ain't gunna pay a company that. But I do like the storm....but only verizon has it...thus I am stuck.
And I don't have or won't spend rather...that much per month for cell service. I have two unlimited plans also.
And yeah, AT&T 3g is pretty much the same as Tmobiles which is funny 'cause AT&T likes to scream how great they are. They just have a TON of commercials that say they are great and people believe it.
I have both ATT and Tmobile by the way;) Work pays for one. they won't pay for Verizon though.

Verizon isn't the only carrier that offers the Storm. You can get a 9530 or a 9500 Storm and use them on T-Mobile if you really wanted to. Lots of AT&T subscribers use the Storm also.

Total nonsense. T-mobile's 3G network is currently a joke compared to AT&T's.
That said... what does any of this have to do with the 9700?

I have both ATT and Tmobile. Honestly, my bold 1 on ATT isn't killing my bold 2 on t-mobile....
seriously....most of AT&T 3G network is hype. The verizon's 3g maps of ATT coverage are pretty correct...sorry...I have my boss pay for AT&T. I've tested here in DC, NYC, and Miami on both networks (I travel for work) and they are about equal for Tmo and ATT. Of course, T-mobile is $50 cheaper for the same plan.

Oh, I didn't realize your three metropolis sample group was an indicator the entire country as a whole.
My bad.

LOL..not trying to mess with ya dude. But I just sayin': It's working for me PERSONALLY in three MAJOR metro areas. And it's much cheaper. And most of the population of the USA with smart phones is in the top 15 major cities... But AT&T does have the "jesus" phone...so that counts for alot. AND AT&T gives my company a huge discount which is why we use them for Business;)

I think touchscreens are the way to go because when you want something you touch it, rather than tell a cursor to select something- just seems more intuitive to the way the brain works....I also miss my old 9000 as a phone.....but yes choice is great, but a pain too!

Not that im calling you out or anything. But don't forget you can adjust the trackpad sensitivity in the options.
I feel like being able to select something with a trackpad gives you more control over what you want to select rather then accidently pressing somewhere on the screen or maybe selecting something while your phone is in your pocket. I had a iPhone for a year and found those problems because of touch which is why i switched to a blackberry/QWERTY type phone.

Definitely not equal here but it should be common knowledge that coverage is going to vary by market and even within markets.

The biggest of cities will probably have equal network coverage for all major carriers. Even MetroPCS! But stray from the protective confines of the city proper and you'll likely experience a big drop-off in coverage. I found that within NYC my coverage with T-Mobile was as good as any of the others, and I've used 'em all. Verizon, AT&T, and now Sprint. But once I got over a bridge or through a tunnel, full bars became half bars, and declined precipitously the farther I went.

The trackpad is absolutely incredible. My wife and son now have the 9700. I have the Tour. Both are rubbing it in my face daily about my inferior trackball. Can't wait for the Tour 2.

Have had my 9700 for a couple of weeks now. So far, it's the best BlackBerry I have ever owned.
