My Bold will not play a WMV file that used to play fine on my 8830. It plays the audio track but no picture,

In my opinion 3gp is the best format, unless the Bold is different.

Hi zerog46

3gp may well produce the smallest files but it is far from being the best quality and the Bold is able to handle much better formats and quality. I convert all my Videos to MP4 480x320 @25fps, 698kbps and Audio @ AAC profile LC 192kbps with truly stunning results on the Bolds screen and great audio through both the Bolds speakers or my ear phones. I am using Movavi Video Converter 6 as already have this program for converting video for my previous devices and it allows me to set up and save a new profile so i now have one click conversions for all my new Videos. It may not be free but it makes my life nice and easy and converting videos quick and easy so was worth the money IMO.

I am also currently using a 8GB SanDisk SDHC card with no problems and currently only have 871mb free so am looking forward to the 16GB launching soon.

Marc

I do have numerous videos in mp4 format, most of the tv shows I have though are 3gp just to save space. I use Imtoo DVD Ripper Platinum to rip my dvds.

I am still using the tried and true Blackberry video convertor from Seabyrd tech with a custom -ofps 15 or -ofps 25 depending on how I wish the sizing to come out. Nice part for my Bold is that it does allow for custom screen resolutions which I set to 480 x 320.

Cheers

I'm probably an idiot, but how do you get mp4 video's to show up on the BB? Do you have to convert them to another type of video format?
