Question Domino 2 Exchange

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I currently have about 30 users on BlackBerry 4.1 connected to a Lotus Domino server. I am in the progress of replacing the Domino server with Exchange Server 2010 using Quest migration tools.

Exchange Server 2010 is up and running and I have prepared a separate Windows Server 2008 R2 server for installing BES 5.0.2 on. I have a new CAL ID & key and a new SRP ID & key. This is the first time I’m working with BES, so I have a few questions on how to proceed.

My idea is to just install BES 5.0.2 on the new server using the new CAL & SRP info. (I’m using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange Installation and Configuration Guide 5.0.2 for guidance). Then reset the mobile devices and reconfigure them to use the new BES server.

As I’m new to this, I have no idea if this scenario is possible.

Some concerns I have are:
* Is this scenario possible?
* Is there another (better) scenario I should consider?
* Will the two BES servers conflict with each other?
* Are there any networking/firewall concerns I should be aware of?

Any comments, insights, tips and/or suggestions are most welcome!

Regards,

Ashley.

I migrated 600 users this past summer from Domino 6.5.6/BES 4.1.7 to Exchange 2010/BES 5.0.2
I used Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange 4.2 for mail.
Throughout this process, I encountered the puzzling, the frustrating and the confusing.
If you have some real specific questions, PM me.
