lol

after i wiped i installed a fresh OS copy from the blackberry site. when i did it the memory card was out.. il take the memory card out now if that is what you meant... and well.. theres nothing that i can see that qwould mess with the sim.. ._.

thanks for the replies and help.. i just hope i get this sorted lol
Well, it seems obvious it's not recognizing the sim. The sim is good and a second (known good) sim fails. The antenna is showing SOS mode, so it's working on that end. So is it something physical at the contacts, something physical elsewhere in the phone, or something in the software?

A wipe and clean reinstall would tend to eliminate software, leaving something physical.

Perhaps something at the USB connector cracked.

I'm out of ideas.

this is going to sound stupid, but at this point, i don't know what else it could be.
have you put the sim card in the right way up and right way round?

i love the "pretty sure"
well are you sure or pretty sure? these are two very different things! lol

erm, i cant see why installing an app would cause the sim not to be recognised.
I would say you'll have to get a new device.

You won't get anywhere with RIM unless you purchased direct from them. We shleps have to start with the carrier and they need to put you in touch with RIM. Unless you are feeling like paying for the phone call as they will charge you.
