Post Bluetooth and computer connection problems

Please Login to Remove!

Hey I cannot connect my Bluetooth to any phone or device it just tells me that it is unable to connect.

The other issue I’m having is that when I connect my bb to the computer it just charges it and does not offer an option to connect to the pc and cannot access my bb. Thanks

assuming that the two issues are related (because Im lazy lol), do you have an IT policy in the phone?

An IT policy could be used to prevent both the bluetooth and usb connection from transfering data. to check for an IT policy in an 8520 with 4.6, go into settings>options>security options>general settings and scroll to the bottom of the menu. if you see a policy section, you have an IT policy (the policy section is hidden on a device with no IT policy).

if you do have an IT policy and are using BES, contact your IT to see if they can adjust the IT policy to allow btooth and usb connections. if you have an IT policy and your are not on BES, you can remove the policy yourself. instructions are available somewhere here in the forums, i'm not sure where, remember i'm lazy lol. also you can contact your service provider, who can get you in touch with RIM who can also walk you thru the process.

you will need a computer with a copy of BBDM installed btw, 4.6 or greater I believe.
