Default Single Notification for multiple messages

Please Login to Remove!

I've been trying to find a way to reduce the number of notifications I get from a few particular friends. These are friends that use text messages like they're on a chat service, sending a couple of words per text but sending multiple texts in quick succession.

Does anyone know of a setting where I would receive a notification for only the first unread text message? I don't want to put my phone on silent mode, but receiving 5-10 notifications within a short time is really annoying.

Thanks

Your friends are texting wrong. Not much you can do about it except tell them. The network is designed to send the text when they hit send and the receiver displays the message. No options exist to antisipate a fool.

One message, one notification. Like tsac said, you have to get your friends to change their habits.

I have seen this before. I wonder if a "Fool" app would be good. It can cover a lot of things people are doing like forgetting to charge the phone and wondering why it dies.
