Default Google "My Maps" -- how to access on BB 8330

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I created a Map using Google Maps, and wanted to save it on my BB so when I travel to that city, I'll have all the info on my BB. But I can't seem to figure out how to view it on the BB. I go to the Google Maps app and there is no menu item to see My Maps or something like that. I tried to send myself the map link via email, but when I try to open the link in the email on my BB, the BB browser says it couldn't open it. Any ideas?

You cannot store maps on the SD or the device itself, except for a few specific applications - Google is not one, however. Map data is downloaded as needed and not stored or recalled from memory.

Thanks for the info, but I'm not trying to save it -- at this point I just want to be able to view it on my BB, if nothing else. Any ideas?

I don't think this is possible at this point, I've tried to figure this out too, and couldn't find anything on google. Hopefully it will be an option in the next upgrade release.

Yeah, the interface isn't there yet unfortunately.

If you have a Garmin GPS unit, you can send the points to the GPS unit as Waypoints.

Or you can view them in Google Earth and create some data files based upon that (ie convert the KML to a GPX and export that data). There are some limited applications for the BlackBerry that can open and read GPX data.
