Hello I am new to the boards, and would like to know how to change the blackberry email that was setup with my phone previously. I got a 7100i from ebay, in good shape, but I got someone elses email setup on the Blackberry email account. So now I have someones email on my display and this guy gets constant emails it drives me nuts. How do I change it to my own email account? can someone help me out? thanks

I tried to create a new account but it say that an account already exists for this pin, what can I do?? anyone?

Mike, you MUST either:
--get the previous user to delete his BIS account, or
--ask the carrier (beg them) to delete the account. Tell them you bought the phone used, etc. They must also release the PIN for you to use the phone.

You can try deleting the Service Books from the BB, but they could be sent back to the BB if the account is not suspended by the prior user.

I bought a 7130 used and it had the same issue (by surfing here I knew the answer but had to try)and they wouldnt do anything for me I begged called six different ppl went to 4 different stores and finally had to contact the guy I bought it from and had him call CS with in 5 minutes I had my email set up and running.

what if i "clear the device"? thats the master reset right? will it remove the email? Is says it stops all services will I have to call nextel cs and redo all my info again? sorry if these are all nooby questions. and thank you in advance

no its tied to the PIN which for all practical purposes its the serial number its hard coded to the device. If he doesnt release it the device is useless and if hes on BES its really useless.

Another prime reason not to buy off ebay when buying a BB
