Anyone tried this version on an 8300 on T-Mobile UK? I presume this MAY work as Tmobile UK isn't TMO?

Certainly possible that other versions might work properly with T-Mobile UK. So far, I haven't read about anyone having service book / browser issues with T-Mobile UK, so I'm guessing the provisioning considerations are different there than they are with T-Mobile US.

but where is Vodafone Today theme?
This worked fine for me too. Now, I see the Vodafone Today theme in my themes list, but I can't select it. I guess I missed a step?

Has anyone noticed any memory leak issues with this version of the OS? I haven't upgraded yet, and was wondering if it was worth the trouble.

Has anyone noticed horrible reception with this version. I updated about 2 weeks ago, right after getting my new curve, and since then I have had issues where the signal turns into the red X of no service, I get random data disconnects using JiveTalk, and most recently I have been getting calls that NEVER RING. I just magically get a VoiceMail notification.
Am I the only one experiencing this? I'm on AT&T in the Providence, RI Area.

Please advice me more, thanks.
Hi, I am still a bit confused after reading all the postings, the differences between Latest Curve OS: SmarTone-Vodafone - v4.2.2.265 / 4.2.2.146 (incl. Chinese) Software For BlackBerry Curve (8300) (TM)
BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.265 (Chinese)
Package Version: 4.2.2.265
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.2.2.146
* Software Platform: 2.4.0.62
* File name: 8300CJK_PBr4.2.2_rel265_PL2.4.0.62_A4.2.2.146_Smar tone_Vodafone.exe
* File size: 74.67MB
and BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.2.2.222 (Chinese/English)
Package Version: 4.2.2.222
Consisting of:
* Applications: 4.2.2.114
* Software Platform: 2.4.0.53
* File name: 8300CJK_PBr4.2.2_rel222_PL2.4.0.53_A4.2.2.114_Optu s.exe
* File size: 74.83MB
I need mainly English version with Chinese websurf or encode, my present version is upda to v4.2.2.89 platform 2.4.0.39. righ now I have Englsih, French and Italian languages installed in the device. How could add Chinese into my devices but without change the mainly English version function for my phone, I only need Chinese for my internet surf. so wihc version should I install? v4.2.2.265 / 4.2.2.146 or v4.2.2.222 (Chinese/English) / 4.2.2.114? please advise clearly. Also if I don't need Italian language which already installed in my device, how could I uninstall it?
I have 2 gb micro sd just installed in the device, but when I check it is only hsows 1.8 gb, why lost 0.2 gb, how could I recover or get back 0.2 bg, thanks for all the assistances, I am new for bb8300, but I really like that baby. h03260122c

The Vodafone version is a newer version which would presumably fix various bugs in any older versions, such as the second one you mentioned. I don't know specifically which bugs off the top of my head, but that is why they would release a new version.
Regarding the memory card, please understand that when you buy a memory card or a hard drive, or anything of that nature, you NEVER get exactly the memory you expect. When buying a 120GB hard drive it will show as 105-112GB depending on the file system used by your computer. There actually is 2GB of memory storage space on your card, however the BlackBerry uses a file system that works out to be 1.8GB. Don't waste your time trying to recover the missing 0.2GB because it simply isn't possible. If it makes you feel any better, my 1GB card is recognized as 982.1MB

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/107)
The reason for the variance is in the math.
1 GB is defined as 1 Billion bytes. However, everything is a power of 2 in computer bytes. So a computer's definition of 1 GB is actually 1024 MB, and 1 MB is actually 1024 KB.
So work it out. 1 GB is actually 1024 MB, 2 GB is actually 2048 MB. But the card which is 2 GB is only 2000 MB, hence the varience (remember that 1 MB is 1024 KB, and 1 KB is actually 1024 bytes).

I've just got it now, i'm on T-Mobile CZ. Wonder if it will be quicker a little bit
I'm just curious - which browser service, or service book should I miss?
Because if I compare it to Pearl with original T-Mobile FW, it's all there.

I can only imagine how frustrating it is for the consistent providers of help on this forum to answer the (seemingly) same questions over and over, but before I do anything I would like to be sure of what I am doing... so thank you in advance if any of you choose to respond!
I have an 8300 from AT&T, straight up (not unlocked, bought from a store). I am having the calendar issues and saw that an OS update may fix that, as well as improving other areas of the phone.
So, my questions:
1. Will loading this new OS, which is supposed to be for SmarTone/Vodafone, void any warranties I have with AT&T?
2. I have backed up my device, creating an ipd file. After installing this new OS, is that file all I need to regain all of my contacts, calendar entries, text messages, etc?
3. Before I actually update the OS, I have read about deleting the vendor.xml file from my computer. Is that all that needs to be done on my computer before going forward with the software update?
As you can tell, I'm a total n00b with the Blackberry and its seemingly constant stream of OS updates. It is a refreshing change from the Treo 700p I had, which never (in my 8 months of ownership) got an OS update from Palm.
Thanks in advance-
Mike

You will not void your warranty. You may not get much support from your carrier for a different OS. However, you can get good advice here so no big deal.
Yes, you can load this OS. Just follow the instructions in the first post and you'll be golden.
Good luck!
