I have a blackberry curve 9300 and for some reason it doesn't work anymore, only this single red light keeps on flashing and once the error code 507 came up. I have taken the battery out, I have even taken it to a phone shop to see if they could fix the problem (they said they would have to delete everything off the phone and restore the software back on the phone 3 times) but still the phone didn't work. When you plug it into the laptop it is detected with out the battery, but then when i put the battery in it says USB NOT RECOGNISED>>> My phone is still under warranty with blackberry, but I don't have the receipt anymore, i have the phone box, even the receipt for the plan i took out with Moblicity...but just not the receipt for the PHONE! :( ...so I'm not really sure what to do as I really need to get my phone fixed as I've only had it for 6 months and now it's not working at all. Any help would be great...as I've tried so many different things and nothing is working! :S

507 means there is no OS on the device.

Wipe with Jl_cmdr (see the FAQ) and then install the latest OS (see the sticky at the top of the 9300 section)

In addition to the above, figure out what you did to mess up the BlackBerry again. Maybe a buggy theme, or third-party app.

After you wipe the device you will see the 507 error, like you saw before. Then resinstall the OS. After that, and after you restore your data from backup (hopefully you did a backup), then restore your apps one at a time and test for 24 hours before adding the next. Start with the apps you absolutely need.

I believe alittle bit of water may have gone into the phone and that's why the phone is not coming on at all. My husband tried to fix the phone by deleting the software and putting it back on to the phone, but still it never worked and then surprisingly the error code 507 came on the next day, then I took the battery out to see if it would work and then since then the code hasn't come back up and once again the red light is just flashing and the phone doesnt work again....i didn't do a backup of my data, but that's okay as I didn't really have anything that important that I had to backup. So do you think the 'Wipe with Jl_cmdr' will still work eventhough my phone isn't even coming on?

If it got wet and you did not immediately remove the battery and properly dry it out, then its a goner. Cut your losses, get a new device and don't waste your time.

okay so i connected me phone to the laptop and the message error 507 came up, so i tried wiping the phone with Jl_cmdr and then suddenty the phone went off and now it keeps connecting and disconnecting to the usb port, and the red light is just flashing on and off. Therefore I am unable to download the OS on to the phone. What do i do now???

check your PM
