Default My blackberry is slooooow

Please Login to Remove!

I have a 7230 with TMO. It's about a month old and I think it's getting slower. If I go to clean out my inbox and select multiple items to delete, it gets real lethargic and delayed. Menu items take a second to pop up, etc. I can't remember it ever being like this.

Is that just how the unit works? It seems like it should be a little quicker but maybe I'm expecting too much. Anyway, if anyone else is having the same problems or has any troubleshooting advice, I'm all ears.

Thanks.

My 7280 is doing that slightly more with each program I load onto it. How much software have you loaded into it? I'm thinking (at least with mine) it's gotta look through all the files to find the ones it needs, the more you put on, the longer it takes to find what it needs. Just a thought.

Nothing loaded except reqwireless browser which i don't even use because the trial is up and it's not worth $30 imo.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with the problem. . .

How effective is the BB at managing system resources?

First, try Alt+Cap+Del to reboot your Blackberry.

If that does not work, wiping the handheld and reinstalling BlackberryOS helps quite a bit in speed. Just start installing of a Blackberry Handheld OS, and uncheck all 'backup...' check boxes.

Then you can just sync the data back from Microsoft Outlook in Blackberry Desktop.

I will see what the reboot does. If that doesn't help, I will try wiping it and starting from scratch. What's the difference between Alt+Cap+Del and turning it off and back on?

Thanks for the tips.

Reboot didn't help me. I'm still the same. Maybe I'm expecting too much out of my BB? It's like running photoshop with 128MB of RAM and no scratch disk and trying to scroll down a 50mb image with 12 layers. It's real jumpy and delayed. If you don't use photoshop that will not make sense. Can't really think of a better analogy at the moment

You still have a lot of memory left on your handheld so its probably not that causing the problem, are you in an area of poorish coverage as if the radio is always doing stuff then it is bound to slow the device down, send an email to your device when playing brickbreaker to see what i mean.

The soft reset always seems to work for me. If it doesn't the next thing I always try is a Hard Reset. Ya know the paperclip in the reset hole thing.
That generally fixing any slowdown I ever experience.

I am surprised that you didn't enjoy the WebViewer app. I love it.
I have organized a ton of bookmarks and I refer to them every day.
