Browser seems snappier than 134.
Holds on to 3G better.
No noticeable improvement to battery life.

There is a small issue where the wallpaper is not staying glued to the home screen: I chose the coloured Zen theme and then I selected something else other than the Red Rogers background as the wall paper. SOME times I get the Zen Theme (mountain/clouds) and most times I get the Rogers background and often I get my own wallpaper.

Has anyone else experienced this? This has happened day 1 with .125, .126, .134, and this latest .147

For my purposes the builds have been successfully installed even while travelling in Australia, New Zealand, and San Francisco and on all sorts of networks (2g/3g/WiFi)

If there is a Chinese installation from a previous release (such as CSL's launch device), you can take these language files and should be able to add them to the .147 build.

As for the battery life, if the iPhone 3G has now become the device to live up to or match, then I'd say the Bold is quite remarkable. I get 25 hours under heavy usage on 3G or Wi-Fi, whereas I would have gotten perhaps 2-3 hours on the iPhone. For weekend use over EDGE, as I do not have 3G at my house, it can last 3 days or more.

Default Upgrade

I upgraded the OS and it seems to work well for me.

I did run into an issue where the destop manager will not connect with the blackberry to sync now. I get a message "failed to connect to device".

Anyone have an idea on how to deal with this one?

Jim

Anyone else notice that the OTA upgrade is back in this version?

I have yet to try my bluetooth headset to see if the streaming music/3g issue has been resolved.

Upgrade went smooth. After running it for 24hrs I have not noticed any big improvements over .134. The memory leak is still there, but it isn't as bad as in .92. I had 40MB free after the upgrade yesterday morning and I have 20MB free today.

I upgraded to .147 yesterday, and although this OS does seem to run faster, I'm noticing this OS wants to drop back to EDGE from 3G a lot. OS .134 would hold 3G for me very well, but this version falls back and doesn't grab on to 3G immediately. When I first power the device up, it goes to EDGE, stays there a minute or so before it goes to 3G. On OS .134 it would go to 3G instantly.

Strange. I too came from .134 and have found exactly the opposite.

I am finding EDGE alot more than I did with .134. Given the varied responses I am going to assume it has to do with each of our locations and network status.

I thought that too. It may be just a local network issue. But if anyone is having the same problems...Please let me know. Thanks!

Well, the bluetooth issue seems to be resolved. I've been streaming music for about an hour so far with various phone calls, emails and BB messages and the media player continues to respond!

Makes it worth the upgrade right there!

Browser seems better too. Youtube now is almost a 50% success over 3g whereas it was maybe 25% with previous OS.

Did have one failed call today...but I've had a few on the other OS releases as well.

My battery life is night and day over before upgrading. Although I turn back on "2G & 3G" before I was 3G only.
