Can someone please tell me options for following methods in JDE 4.0 as these are introduced in 4.2?

HomeScreen.updateIcon(bitMap);
NotificationsManager.hideSource(long);

Please help

This should be in the developer forum.

You will have to use a JDE greater than 4.2 to use features introduce in 4.2.

Thanks

Specifically, HomeScreen was included in 4.1, so you are out of luck on 4.0 devices. hideSource was in 4.2 so that would also be a no.

Sometimes, one is able to write code that implements the same function as something provided in a later API, but when it comes to manipulating the state of RIM applications this is rarely the case.

Ohhhh... that means I will have to do without these features on my 4.0 build. Thank you very much for response.
