Will the desktop software backup memos on the blackberry?
Is it like activsync in that I can, backup the bb, loose everything in a reset and restore it all?
I am moving away from several devices that eld littl snippets of info and am trying to put them all on the blackberry, hoping this works

Yes it backups all data on your unit. You can also selectively restore them also in advance.
