Probably a bug in the 4.0 software. Its just beta, and trust me there are bugs...

Downgrade temporarily to BlackBerryOS 3.7 for now.

Does the problem still happens?

If so, your BlackBerry is broken (it's not 4.0 fault)

We need to eliminate wild gooses first.

Default hey

ya yesterday I went to 3.7.......
same ole' thing........
I now get four quick flashes "red light" before/while it's reloading/resetting.....or..error 463 reser
or... evertime I push my spacebar button my berry restets by it's self??
so I can safely say it's not a 4.0 problem......
but it's seems like an odd virus?? to me anyway!!
what is my next step?

thanks
mike

We have now determined thta BlackBerryOS 4.0 is probably not the problem;

I think it is time to claim your BlackBerry warranty!

A last resort might be to do the equivalent of a reformat -- wipe your BlackBerry clean and reinstall BlackBerryOS with no data and no third party software. As if you received a Blackberry all over again.

But if it is easier to claim the warranty, and you already reinstalled anyway, so the chances are big that it is now a hardware problem!

Sorry Mike -- been out of the office all week, and have missed the last 1000 posts! OMG! I have to read 1000 new posts!!! Anyway, sounds like your BBerry finally succumbed to your Brickbreaker abuse Error 463 means: "Dude, take it easy on the Brickbreaker dosage!" -- Just kidding...sorry you're having problems...hope the new Berry arrives soon!

YA.
you mentioned that you have the desktop...ie 3.7
but you will have to download 3.7 software.....
once you have the 3.7 saved/downloaded to you pc
close your desktop 3.7...and run the 3.7 software/....

there will be a box that pops up..."no new software found...install older version?"

click yes and your back on your way........

I hope I was clear enough??
Why are you ridding you berry of 4.0?????
