Please Login to Remove!

Yes, I've posted it in a couple Docs To Go Threads.

Delete or rename the DocumentsToGo.alx file located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\loader files\<your model and OS version\

It's located in the same folder that the Blackberry.alx is located. I just rename mine DocumentsToGo.old

Thanks for the guide JC!

Just went from about 5MB back up to 13 or so.
Got one question though.
I already had 4.5.0.44 loaded when I went in and did this this morning.
The one thing I cant do is delete the Dimension themes. I moved the files to the Removed Modules folder but this is the one thing it doesnt detect and remove when I run the App Loader.

Do I have to just downgrade and re-update to the newer OS from scratch??

Gotta go look up the Docs to Go thread. I didnt even know there was a Sheets-To-Go app! I went from 4.2 that came on the Curve right to 4.5.0.42 so I never even saw it once!

I have been working on this for 3 hours now and I give up. Pls forgive me if it was covered and I missed it. I did the 4.5 upgrade for my Alltel 8330 and I want to get rid of facebook and some other apps that look like spam such as axcess shop, games and more, pocket express and real tone jukebox.

I have deleted the service books several times but after a battery pull the service books and icons are back.

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, that's how those push service books work. However, they take up almost no space as they are just a link and not the app. Just hide those icons or put them in another folder.

Thanks a ton man. I suspected that they may just be links since they said browser configuration.

Another quick Q.

Can I delete:

net_rim_font_chinese_hong kong.cod

net_rim_font_chinese_traditional.cod

net_rim_font_latin_truetype.cod

from the java folder on the C drive?

Will that free up space on the 8330?

You can delete the chinese fonts. Don't delete latin_truetype.

Your memory card has nothing to do with applications that are loaded on the device. The mem card is only for media storage..pics, ringtones, etc.

Question Question

Hi All:

A few weeks back I uninstalled a few themes to free up space with no issues (per JC instructions). Today, I wanted to free up some more space by removed voice dialing and preinstalled wallpapers but when I when I got to C:program files, common files, RIM, shared, loader files, then my OS 4.2.2.180P2.5.0.36,java folder. The only folder I now have is "removed modules" that I created when I removed the themes.

I had removed some previous version of OS I has on my PC a while back since I was no longer using them. What would cause the missing folders? Do I have to reload the OS and start over again?

Thanks

How about the TMo theme? Why is it missing from the OS downloaded from the TMo site?
Trust me on this one I have three 8700s. Two T-Mobiles and an unlocked AT&T you DON'T want tmos theme it sucks and has sucked since I got my 7290. You are better off loading a theme from the web (i am running spongebob square pants) they are better organized and easier to use. Try running the plain zen theme

Sounds like you uninstalled that particular OS. Either that or you uninstalled Desktop Manager and installed a new Desktop Manager. Uninstalling Desktop Manager will uninstall all installed OS's with it.

Thanks JC. I did unistall desktop manager in favor of a new version (crap). I didn't know that it would have uninstalled the OS. Do I simply re-install the OS and start over?

Yes. Just reinstall and you'll have to do all the edits again. It seems to work best to "upgrade" desktop manager instead of removing and reinstalling fresh.
