Default Changing BB but keeping BBM

Please Login to Remove!

Hi
My daughter has a Curve and is on O2 PAYG with data plan which she's been using fine for a couple of years. I have just given her my Bold and we tried swapping SIM card over yesterday. When we swapped it though and went into BBM it had my BBM contacts and messages. Is this something to do with the PIN? Can anybody tell me what we need to do please.

Thanks
Caroline

Yes, the PIN for each device is hard-coded into it at the factory. There is no changing you PIN. You need to alert your old BBM contacts that you no longer have that PIN, and your daughter needs to update her BBM buddies as well.

I suggest backing up her old Curve via Desktop Manager, then doing a security wipe of your Bold before restoring it with her information via that Desktop Manager backup.

Thanks. So, she just needs to give her BBM buddies my old PIN number? Sorry but how do I do a security wipe?

Yes, simply emailing her BBM contacts or calling them and giving them the new PIN will do it. You can go into Settings > Security and there should be an option to do a security wipe.
