I've seen this before. Sometimes a PIN request just gets lost in the ether. I had one buddy who simply could not receive my PIN request. We tried it standing side by side even and no dice. When he sent the PIN invite to me I got it immediately and he was able to add me. That got it done for both of us. Have your friend try adding you and see if it works.

I've fixed it by removing and re-adding the bb messenger completely. It's something you can try but it's kind of a pain. If nothing else works and you have the desktop manager, you could always try that.

What OS are you on? and Are you adding by email or by PIN?

In 4.2, adding by email never worked for me. Had to add by PIN.

Also make sure the person you are trying to add in stored into your address book.

Upgrading the OS will probably solve it. Under 4.2, I was never able to get it to connect even if the PIN was in my contact.

The only way it worked was adding by "use once" or something similar, then I think it was hit the option key, add by PIN, then enter the PIN. Can't quite remember the steps, but at some point right after use once you had to not go to the next step and hit the option key instead.

For me, the only way I could get it to work right, was to use the "use once" choice.

I put the pin in there, even if they were not on my friends it should work.
