Default Sync Calendar events

Please Login to Remove!

I have 2 questions..

When someone sends me an appointment request I do not get the notification on the BB, only in outlook. Is there a way around this?

When I make calendar events in outlook they sync fine with the BB ota.
However when I make an event or change an existing event they do not sync with outlook from the BB ota.

am I sol or a config change?
Thanks

I have a user with this same problem. I have been working with RIM on it, but they haven't been able to figure it out yet.

I have the same issue...all of my bberries cannot invite or accept users. I called support and they say to re-register mapi32.dll and cdo.dll in the c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin dir. CDO registers w/o issue but mapi32 returns the following error:
"dllregisterserver entry point not found" This was an upgrade but I get the same error on a new install. I'm using Exchange 2003 sp1 (on both server & bes). Support is saying the version of the cdo and mapi32 must match your exchange server. we are running in mixed mode 5.5 and 2003, but the user's mailboxes are on the 2003.

did anyone figure this out??
thanks

Hi all,

I think this problem is somehow connected to the one-way-sync problem that I am having. When trying to reregister the mapi32.dll, the exact same error occurs as you described here.

Could you tell me whether RIM told you to restart the server after the re-registration?

Did any other process had to be performed before the 'regsrv32.exe' command was used? For instance, did you somehow need to unregister the dll first? If yes, which exact command did you use?

Cheers,

Masud

They told me to restart afterwords.
to unregister regsvr32.exe -u filename
however they did not tell me to do this.
I am still having the problem tho :(

Hi,

Each time such a problem occurs, do you see any errors appearing in the 'SERVERNAME_MAGT_date.txt' log in the log directory of the BES?

Do you see errors/notifications appear in the Windows server's event viewer (application events)?

Cheers,

Masud

Yes here is the error

[30002] (04/11 21:26:09):{0x104} Server = server, Mailbox = /o=DOMAIN/ou=first administrative group/cn=Recipients/cn=sam Description = You do not have permission to log on. [Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store - [MAPI_E_FAILONEPROVIDER(8004011D)]].
[30180] (04/11 21:26:09):{0x104} {sam} CDOCalendar::Initialize - Error in call m_spCalendarFolder = m_spCDOSession->GetDefaultFolder.

Does this mean the CDO is working but I have a permissions problem?
I have checked the permissions and I can not tell what I am missing from the install guide
thanks guys
here may be another problem I just noticed on a restart

Hi Stronghold,

Seems as if you have the exact same problem as we were having and you are using the Administrator's account as the BES account. Here's what we did:

The main problem was the rights on the Exchange server for the BES user account. Since we used the 'Administrator' account, we forgot to check the groups that the adminstrator belonged to. Two groups (Domain Admins and Enterprise Admins) had 'deny' entries for relevant rights for the BES account (in our case these were for the 'send as' and 'receive as'). Just make sure these 'deny' entries are removed and it will work. You don't have to make them into 'allow' entries, just uncheck them. We finally have full two-way synchronization enabled!

Hope this will help you.

Cheers,

Masud

What version of CDO.dll is everyone using? I don't know if this is part of my problem or not, but I checked and both the BES and Exchange2k have the same cdo.dll version: 6.0.6603.0 Using BES 4.0...

I see from these forums that the calendar "features" leave more to be desired on 4.0, but I'm not sure if my issue is an easy fix or not. Here's what I have:

User checks his BB calendar - shows freespace. He makes an appointment. Next day he checks Outlook, that timeslot was busy with another meeting. the meeting appt went out and is now doubled-up in that busy timeslot. So the BB sent out the request, but Outlook/Exchange did not give BB up-to-date calendar info. Any thoughts? I have wireless synchronization turned on in both BES and all handhelds...
thanks

hey Masud that was my problem all along.
I now have it fully working. thanks

I am starting to understand this mess

DownByLaw123, if you have the same CDO then that is probably not your problem.
you need the register the dll on the BES server have you tried that?

and check the logs

Default similar probs with calendar... Unable to find cdo.dll

I have the following message in my MAGT log:

[30000] (04/14 00:00:02):{0xFC8} [ENV] Unable to find CDO.DLL Version information

the file is definately in the Exchsrvr\BIN folder, and it's the same file that's on my Exchange Server... I'd try registering the file, if someone can explain just how to do it!

goto a run command
regsvr32.exe "c:\program files\Exchsrvr\BIN\CDO.dll"

or the path to where you have the cdo.dll file

Sweet! Thanks Stronghold. It now updates both ways, OTA. The only problem I know have is with the duplicate entries in my calendar! Anyone know of a way to reset the Calendar entries without completely resetting the user?

Was this issue solved? in case it wasn't, the solution for our company addressed the meeting request issue as well:
