He hasn't said anything about when they'll be ready for purchase as an accessory but I can't wait for it to show up...

Did you see the other two on the site. Before I edited the link it only showed one of them.

Yup I saw the other two. Personally I loved my leather case for my 7290...the plastic holster wasn't bad either

I find the 8700 plastic holster makes it too easy to pop the device out if it's brushed up against anything...the soft case I saw covered the entire device with a hole available for the speaker. It wasn't leather, but it was a soft-er case...the reason for the inclusion with the 8700f is that supposedly Europeans don't like hard things...cases...supposedly...err...yeah...sure... at least that is what I was told...

Can you get a pic of that case, or is there a link somewhere?

No link or picture available yet...but I'm trying to convince him to hook me up with it on the weekend when I see him. If I get a hold of it I'll post some pics.

Why does this picture show an 8700f with a QWERTY keyboard? I thought they were all AZERTY.

None of these available till the end of the year. I am hoping that RIM get the OEM leather case out before that.

The Flip lid case looks a lot like what PielFrama is coming out with. They sent me an email the other day and expect their case for 8700 out soon. I love the quality of the PielFrama cases. Lots of good leather and soft padding front and back. I've exclusively used PielFrama for all my BB's and PDA's and have never suffered scratches or disasters even after dropping some of these on hardwood and concrete.

I don't understand how they sell these cases without commenting on the sleeper magnet and showing us the swivel. I would never go through the hassle of buying to have to return without seeing it.

My OEM 7280 leather case was awesome. I want to see what RIM puts out.

The OEM leather case has been providing protection for my old tank of a 7280 for almost two years now. I'll be waiting for the OEM case for the 8700 too. Did you notice that the have the leather case in several different colors now?

Cases look great on that site especially the first one, though I'm not partial to brown. I would not purchase any of them without seeing what the swivel looks like though. Not worth the hassle. Can't wait to see what RIM releases.

Yeah, I think the magnet they are refering to is the magnetic snap closure device, not the "active" OEM holsters that have a magnet embeded in the case to turn the light and screen off when you place the device in its home. It would be great if they have that, but I can't find anything mentioning it.

I called the company and this case will have the magnet sleep function.

Thanks,

Nice case. But it doesn't look like you can connect the wall/car charger or sync cable while the phone is in the vertical or horizontal case. You can if you get the flip style case. I would like to see a picture of the Piel Frama case they are usually very nice. The OEM case is adequate but I'd like a little more protection from the bumps and fumbles.
