Has anyone ordered yet? If so, when will they be shipping them?

I ordered one about 30 minutes ago and the C/S rep said it will ship either today or tomorrow. Paid for expedited shipping so hopefully I'll get it on Friday.

the price for the rogers one seems way off...no?

$499.99 with 3-year term
$549.99 with 2-year term
$599.99 with 1-year term
$599.99 with no term
All prices are after rebate...

why would i pay 599.99 and agree to sign up for a 1 year term, when i could pay the same and get no term

Actually it's only on the 36 month term that has a $50 Mail in rebate.
The 24 month, 12 month, month to month/and or no term have no MIR

When ordering from CS you will recieve your fone via UPS (they used to use Purolator) and comes from Resolve.

CS will always tell a cx that they will recieve the fone they want in 7-10 business days. That being said many people will get theirs before then.
Also it depends on stock availability.

Will they be able to provide a UPS tracking number?

As far as I know you can. Once the order is processed a tracking number is noted in your account. Once that's has been noted in your account any customer service rep can tell you what the tracking number is.

I just order one from Cingular. I got the slowest-hourly-waged C/S and he took 52 minutes to take one order. I am only taking data plan and no voice plan. Order status: In progess.. I will keep my fingers X

It came today! Very impressed. One thing though I've found however is that the 8700 feels much more fragile than the 7100 and 7290. If you're looking for a ruggid device, this is not it.

Yes I agree. For some reason I don't trust it like a 7290 in terms of build-quality

I've seen a beta unit thrown around (literally) so I'm sure it will be just fine. the 62xx and the 72xx are very rugged devices and I don't see RIM making their 'enterprise' unit less sturdy. I have a feeling that most people will feel that way due to the weight, but remember what kind of a beating Nokia's could take (I'm thinking the older 6100 series etc etc...) and they were fine...

The only thing I am slightly concerned about is the screen cover getting scratched.

My screen is severly scratched, hope the retail units withstand scratches better.
