Exclamation What happened to the...?

Please Login to Remove!

Moving from a 7290 to the 8700r I've noticed that the default settings don't allow me to dial by name from the call log screen.

In the 7290 I would simply hit call log --> anywhere on the log start typing the letters of the contact I wanted --> select them on the wheel and select their number

Now it seems as though to do this from the call log screen I need to click in on the wheel --> go to the call from address book item --> type my contact name and select --> then pick call contact and pick the number...

Has anyone figured out a way to make the 8700 behave as the 7290 did in this regard?

All applies are totally appreciated...I'm going nuts here with having to do this extra step OR go to the address book (which doesn't by default select the 'call <contact name>' item)

Hold down the green call button, rather than just pressing it quickly. Then you can dial by name...

I saw someone else mention it elsewhere. It was killing me, too. Now, if I could just find shortcuts to swap calls, hold calls, etc. I get a lot of call waiting, and it KILLS me to keep hitting the trackwheel to switch back and forth!

That last page of the manual (or start guide thing) has most of these shortcuts listed.

Default No shortcut for swap or join calls

I have never heard of one.
