Question BB Curve 8520 Wifi and General

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Everyone,
Just a few questions, had this phone a day now and have 2 wifi connections and the browser works fine. Clearly I have a problem when trying to install and download the app world to my phone. Saying the BB doesnt meet system requirements. Strange as Its up to date with the latest software, is there something I must do?

Must mention at this time im on Orange (I see they are crap with wifi). Also have the facebook app and it wont connect saying the data service is not detected. Just a little annoyed.
I dont get a great signal at work could this be a problem? I am sat 2 feet away from the wifi Hub at work.

Any help would be apprecitated

Kind regards

Rob

You need a BLACKBERRY data plan to use facebook or app world.
It will not work purely on wi-fi.

hello, I am new to the forum and not a BB owner yet. Didn't wanted to start a new topic so I'll post here.

I am thinking in buying a 8520 with a bb data plan. In my country rates are very high so it will be a limited bb data plan(xx mb included, anything over charges extra).
Questions (maybe a silly ones):
1.When connected to the wifi (at home for ex), does all the traffic used over wifi (mail, messaging, browsing and so) subtracts from included bb data plan mb, or not?

2.Can I set my bb in such a way that whenever I am in the range of a hotspot, it would automatically connect to it and everything I do over internet uses that wifi connection? (considering the hotspot is predefined and wifi in always on, this without doing any settings every time)

Sorry for that, I've really acted like a noob there but I am in a desperate need of a quick yes/no.
I'll try a search.
