Hi All,

At 5:21 last night, our Blackberry environment stopped funtioning.

We are running a BES 4.0 Server (2k3), talking to an Exchange 2K3 server.

Below are the various event's we are recieving

SRPClient::Connect: Error calling host "localhost" [127.0.0.1] (0)

I've been in touch with our firewall experts, and I can confirm that traffic is flowing to the SRP.

I've also run the BBSRPTEST.exe, and that is a successful connection.

All services are running on the BES server, and I can find no issues on the Exchange server..

Hopefully, somebody has some advice for me.

Thanks!

Modify the NetworkAccessNode value to localhost in the registry.

1. Click Start > Run and type regedit.
2. Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Dispatcher\.
3. Change the NetworkAccessNode Value data field to localhost and close the Registry Editor.
4. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
5. Stop and Start the BlackBerry Dispatcher

Have you looked in your BES logs? Are there any errors in there?
I've seen srp connections failing if someone has used the same srp id.
Call RIM and check if the srp id is disconnected on their relay.
What service pack have you got applied?
I did an install ealier this week that disconnected but after applying sp 4 hotfix 2 it resolved itself.

Check if someting is changed in the Windows Policies. if you get 127.0.0.1 in the error, it is the local host. Check if all the required services are still running.

The following Microsoft Windows services are required to run the BlackBerry Enterprise Server:

* Event Log
* NT LAN Manager (NTLM) Security Support Provider
* Windows Time service
* Workstation

Also if you installed new/other software on the BES (e.g. Backup software) check for port conflicts.

Regards,
Bob
