With Beta .337 out which does not have the touch screen issues, I am definitely going to give .284 a pass.
Haven't really noticed any real issues with .246 though.
@penguin3107, JC - ever heard of figure of speech or do you just generally have reading comprehension problems? Unless you have a device with physically different hardware than others, then my device and your device are identical and should behave identically with the same OS release. Just because you are not capable of getting your OS running properly that does not mean nobody else is capable of doing it. I really have a problem with ignorant comments. What did both of you even try as steps to eliminate the problem? Probably next to nothing. Even if there is a bug in this release it clearly does not exhibit everywhere. It is YOU with the reading comprehension problem. I have personally had dialogue with RIM (and no, not an escalation from the carrier to their phone people) on the issue. They duplicated it as well as other mods/members here and, if you do a search, there are hundreds of posts about it on other forums. Per RIM there is no workaround that they know of.
