Default BES: Problem with external emails

Please Login to Remove!

hello

We have just migrated from BIS to BES, after the migration the users have not been able to get their external emails on their devices such as hotmail, gmail and yahoo. Could anyone guide me the right way to ensure that these emails are also recieved along with the configured official emails. This was working fine so long as we were in BIS.

any help would be greatlyyy appreciated

Cheers
Bala

How exactly were the users migrated over? Were their devices wiped prior to activating on the BES? Is their BES email working fine (can they send mail to external recipients)?

Make sure that during "migration" your wireless carrier have not moved your blackberries to BES_only data plan.

Did the BES Admins push an IT Policy onto all devices that prohibits external email accounts? That's a common thing to ban on a BES system.

i am pretty new at this blackberry thing, there was no specific IT policy set to prohibit this and all the users are in BES + plan which allows the users to check their external emails too.

Might be it's an issue with service books. Login to your carrier's site and re-send the BIS service books to the devices. Reboot (battery-pull) the device.

Now, check if you get it working.
