Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

Hmm. The title of thread contradicts your post. What am I missing?

He's going off a BGR article, when he was talking about the Bold being released in 2012(sarcastic about the delays).

Well 2012 could be right considering all the delays we've seen in the past.

Especially if AT&T is involved.

Delays are good sometimes. Verizon should have delayed the Storm a few months to get it right instead of releasing it half done just to make the holiday rush.

A good point...most carriers wind up making a choice between "first to market" or "best to market". No blanket right or wrong here, it depends on the situation and what the carrier wants to achieve.

AT&T delayed the Bold month after month and still had 3G issues.

Wasn't just AT&T. Orange ended up pulling the device due to ongoing issues. I personally never had any problems with my Bold.

Or at least there was a rumor that Orange pulled it. Never confirmed (IIRC).

I'm wondering how much of that is AT&T's fault.

My AT&T rep said June-ish for the Curve 8900. But why release new 2G devices?

Because the battery life is far better than 3g and if you have good edge coverage there is little real difference for most people when it comes to a blackberry as it is designed to use bandwidth efficiently unlike other smartphones.

2g is far slower then 3g when it comes to the web. This is coming from a guy who is still on a 8700 and i have used every new series of BB since the 7290. I would like to see a 3g version of the curve with the spaced out keypad soon. I think i have waited long enough

i live in los angeles. last night i put my curve 8310 next to my friends Bold. using the default browser and hitting enter at the same time for 3 different web sites his Bold about 3-4 seconds faster.

imo thats not far slower. he doesnt use opera mini so we didnt test it. i dont know why but 3g aint workin right ...
