Default Blackberry dropping BIS service

Please Login to Remove!

Today on the NBC financial station there was a discussion on Blackberry and its future.
Apparently the CEO Chen has indicated they will drop BIS consumer service and concentrate on BES commercial service. This is a real possibility and I for one hope they come to a different conclusion and continue with consumer service.

I don't know, but it seems like it would cost more to manage than the revenue it brings. There aren't many people still using BIS.

I'm sitting on the fence wondering which way they will go. I would like to upgrade the 9700. I like the BIS service but also use the Z10. Both the 9810 and Z10 are on BES but not sure how any non company BES device will be affected if they drop the BIS service. will the carriers not want to support the BB10 devices and just want corporate phones. The BB10 devices work totally without regard to any Blackberry service type service but who knows what changes or restrictions will be put in place if they drop BIS.
