Default Maintenance Release 8 for SP4

Please Login to Remove!

Just installed MR8 onto a BES 5 SP4 for Exchange and i have noticed that the BAS-AS process is now using 1GB of memory whereas pre MR8 it was down at roughly 700k. The BAS-NCC process is now using 250k but before was only at 80k.

Is this part of the MR or do I have a problem? BES operation is fine and i am not seeing any issues, apart from the higher memory useage of the BAS processes.

BAS AS is at 700 meg for me on MR7

1 gig isn't that bad. its only a 256 meg increase.

At the moment it is running at 1,240,232. This is on a test server with only one user and no BAS consoles open.

BAS-NCC reached 250k yesterday but has dropped down to 161k today.

My worry is how much memory it is going to use on a live server with several hundred users and several BAS consoles open.

my BES 5 VM was running with 2 gig of RAM for past year with a remote SQL database with out issue.

I just upgraded to MR8 today and it was using up 97% memory so I increased RAM to 4 gig.

Update from RIM.

With the release of BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.4 MR8 we are incorporating more use of JBoss where we will see an increase in memory usage for the BlackBerry Administration Services (BAS).
